Will the Boy Scouts Be Brave, or Cave?

Word is the Boy Scouts are setting up to cave on the homosexual issue, largely because bigots have been leaning on various corporations to withdraw funding.  The latest are UPS and Merck.  I suppose they're within their rights for directing their charitable dollars where they like, and gay bigots have been quite successful at pressuring large companies to do this.

Still, it is sad that the intolerant leftists who preach tolerance have such a hard time tolerating real diversity.  If they want to set up a competing organization, let them.  Many churches already do (Awanas, Calvinist Cadets, just to name a couple), so it's not like there isn't a market for alternatives to the Boy Scouts.  But that's not acceptable to them.  They can't build their own.  All they can do is tear down and destroy what others have built.  Like gay sex, gay politics are ultimately parasitic, empty, and destructive.

This will be a huge boon for those church groups, I'm thinking, but it will cost BSA far more than it will gain them.  One cannot teach that being a scout means being brave if one sets an example of moral cowardice.  Let's see if the leadership of the BSA is able to be brave, or if money matters more than principle.

I probably agree with you about groups starting up competing scout-like organizations. That being said, one wonders if there is any sort of unifying institution left in the United States.
